Luso Meteo Hydrological Risk is a proprietary product based on observed and forecast data. It does not replace official warnings or information from APA, IPMA or Civil Protection.
Glossary
River basinLand area draining into a watercourse network and towards a common outlet.
Hydrometric stationStation measuring water parameters, such as level, elevation or flow, in a river or reservoir.
Weather stationStation recording weather variables, including precipitation.
Water levelWater surface height relative to a local reference. This does not necessarily represent the river's total depth.
CotaWater surface elevation relative to a vertical datum or reference. This must not be confused with river depth.
CaudalWater volume passing through a cross-section per unit time, usually expressed in cubic metres per second (m³/s).
Caudal afluente e efluenteO caudal afluente entra numa albufeira; o caudal efluente sai dela, por descarga ou exploração.
Volume armazenadoWater stored in a reservoir. The percentage is relative to that reservoir's specified total capacity.
Accumulated precipitation over 15 minutesRainfall recorded locally over 15 minutes. By itself, this does not represent rainfall across the entire basin.
APA / InfoÁguaAPA is the Portuguese Environment Agency. InfoÁgua is its platform for water resources information and monitoring stations.
Observation and forecastUma observação é uma medição registada por uma estação. Uma previsão é uma estimativa futura produzida a partir de dados e modelos; as duas podem ter horários e atualizações diferentes.
Luso Meteo Hydrological RiskProprietary indicator combining observed and forecast signals to monitor hydrological situations. It is not an official warning and does not replace information from APA, IPMA or Civil Protection.
